1990 - 92 : Alisha then changed her image and released an album of songs in English titled Kamasutra which was a mega seller. Her "Alisha Shows" - spectacular extravaganzas replete with dancers, computerised lighting and powerful state of the art sound system were sold-out nation wide. To audiences used to seeing playback performers standing still and reading lyrics when singing on-stage. Alisha's performances were a revelation. She was extraordinary on-stage - singing flawlessly and in perfect pitch while dancing.

Alisha also became the only singer in Indian history to achieve success as both pop singer and a playback singer in the colossal Indian film industry where she notched up a string of massive hits.

1993 - 96 : Alisha now created history as her next two albums "Bombay Girl" and "Made in India" became the first pop albums in India to achieve triple and multiplatinum status. "Made in India" became India's highest selling album ever crossing 3 million units. Alisha received the Asian viewers Choice Billboard award and the Freddie Mercury award for artistic excellence. Her music videos stayed at the top of the charts for a full year proving that her stunning looks and on-screen charisma more than matched her distinctive style and unique vocal ability.

She packed stadiums all over India averaging 20,000 people per city, and her sell out shows in the Middle East (10,000), Mauritius (35,000), South Africa (10,000), Sri Lanka (10,000), Bangladesh (10,000) and Kazhakstan (25,000) are proof of her immense popularity all over the region.
